Product Description:

Connecting a BIOS chip to an SOP8 test clip requires attention to the corresponding pin, or else the chip could be destroyed. There is a small dot at the pin one of the BIOS chip. The line with color on the test clip is the first line, corresponding to the pin one of the chip. So, in order to avoid errors, one should solely look at the pin one of the test clip and the programmer for correspondence. Moreover, when connecting the test clip cable to an adapter board, one should take care of the corresponding connecter's feet on the board.

The next step is programming the BIOS. Firstly, one should link the chip to the computer and open the programming software. Secondly, one should detect the chip info by the software. Then, erase the chip. Following that, check the empty of the chip, which usually takes a few seconds. Afterwards, open the bin file for programming. It will take a few minutes, and then one should verify it. Finally, if one has followed all the steps above, the machine can be powered on. In that case, one can see a few lines of English letters, indicating that the programming was successful. However, one might need to to charge it before the normal power-on.

 

Features:

This product is equipped with a FT232BL chip and an external EEPRON (93C46), allowing it to support Windows 10. In addition, it has three power supply modes: 5V external power, 3.3V external power, and external power (required voltage 3.3V-5V). The product is also provided with 3 LEDs to monitor the data transmission process, namely, TXD LED, RXD LED, and POWER LED. The GND, RXD, TXD, 3V3, and 5V are featured with curved pins for convenient use. Other pins such as CTS and RTS are kept reserved to expand its function in the use. To access the MCU as an example, a instructions manual can be consulted.

RXD: Connect to MCU.TX (The signal flows from the MCU.TX to the FT232 before it reaches the PC.RX )

TXD: Connect to MCU.RX (The signal flows from the MCU.RX to the FT232 before it reaches the PC.TX )

3V3/5V: Output either 3.3V or 5V (The module is powered by USB and the jumper cap must be set to 3.3V or 5V)

RTS: Connect to MCU.CTS (The signal flow direction is from the MCU.CTS to the FT232 before it reaches the PC.RTS )

CTS: Connect to MCU.RTS (The signal flows from the MCU.RTS to the FT232 before it reaches the PC.CTS )
